Hi! My name is Maria, and I have created this blog to share my sewing makes with you!

By day, I run my own business Tuskenknits, which is a hand-dyed yarn company. I have been doing this full-time since 2016, and love love love running my own business. But after a year or so of doing this full-time, I realized I needed to find a new hobby, as knitting was becoming more of a job, even though I do still enjoy it.

I started sewing in 2007, but it has only been in the last few months of 2017 that I really got back into it, and discovered the world of indie patterns and apparel fabric. I love minimal and classic clothes, as well as vintage fashion.

I love the idea that sewing makes us feel more comfortable in our own unique bodies. Also, sewing helps me remember and accept that my style and taste is allowed to change and develop. Even though I want to build a working capsule wardrobe, I know this is something that will be reinvented with each season and year. And that’s okay!
